Invicta 8928OB Pro Diver Automatic Watch Review

Invicta 8928OB Pro DiverThe Invicta 8928OB Pro Diver is one more addition to Invicta’s well known and well respected Pro Diver Collection. In my detailed review I’ll give you details on both the Pros and the Cons to buying this time piece…Not only that, but I’ll point you in the direction of the best price online.

As I’m sure you know, Invicta is a very respected manufacturer of budget and mid-range watches…The Invicta 8928OB Pro Diver is an example of one of Invicta’s super affordable, bang-for-your-buck watches and before I say anything else, I want to say that yes, the 8928ob is a great watch and I recommend it for anyone. However! It’s not without it’s flaws, and it’s important that you understand them before you buy this diver watch. That being said…

My Invicta 8928OB Pro Diver Review

The Invicta 8928OB Pro Diver is definitely one of my favorite watches under $100, if not my favorite. If I can just be honest here for a second, if I were going to buy an Invicta watch for under $100, or probably even any brand watch for under $100, I would buInvicta 8928 Pro Divery either the Invicta 8928OB (this watch) or the Invicta 8926C (same watch, different design) which is pictured below. I just really love the Pro Diver Collection, and from a financial stand point it’s really hard to beat the quality:price ratio of these watches.

By the way, something that I didn’t figure out for awhile, the difference between the 8928OB and the regular 8928 is the bezel. The 8928OB features the Old Bezel, or in other words a coin edge bezel, which is preferred by divers because it’s easier to grip. The regular 8928 features a scalloped bezel, which some prefer for aesthetic reasons. It doesn’t really make that much difference, and that’s the only difference between the 8928ob and th8928OB Pro Diver Case Backe 8928.

I love the deep sea blue of the watch dial and the 23K gold plated band and gold toned indexes around the bezel are the perfect fit to this watches design. The time piece has a distinct nautical feel to it, and looks like a much higher quality watch than it is. I’ve read stories about folks who’ve taken this watch into a jeweler/other professional and been told that this watch looks like a $500 – $1,000. Here’s a quote from an informed reviewer:

…Nine out of ten people won’t notice the difference if you normally wear a Rolex and switch to an Invicta (as long as it has the coin bezel, which this watch, per the photo, does)…

And that’s the truth. This Submariner tribute is almost too good to be true.

My Verdict of the Invicta 8928OB Pro Diver

All in all the Invicta 8928OB Pro Diver does have its flaws…I wish the movement were Swiss; I wish Invicta had used flame fusion crystal instead of mineral crystal; I wish it would wake up early and make breakfast for me every morning, but unfortunately I can’t have those things. I don’t expect perfection from a $100 watch, so hey, I’m not complaining. The Invicta 8928OB is gorgeous, and it’s a rugged automatic watch for a very reasonable price.

If you need MORE confirmation of the quality of this watch then I suggest checking out a few of the many 5-star reviews on Amazon. Or you could read some more stuff on WhatWatches.com. Thanks for reading my review!
