My Invicta 9212 Speedway Chronograph Men’s Watch Review

This is a pretty solidly built watch…There are certainly a lot of things I like about it, but I do have some complaints, all of which I’ll explain after I take a second to show you another

version of the watch. If you don’t like the look of the Invicta 9212, but do like everything else, then you might be interested in the Invicta 9211…It’s a little bit sleeker looking in my opinion. It’s not two-tone, so it won’t stand out quite so much. Check it out:

Let me start by telling you about the things I liked…

The quartz movement is accurate, and is certainly accurate enough to be used in a chronograph watch. For most normal folks who like a low-maintenence watch that you don’t need a winder for, the quartz movement is going to be better.

Perhaps the most noteworthy feature of this Invicta chronograph watch is the 18K gold plating…The plating seems to hold up very well in this watch. The Invicta 9212 Speedway Collection’s two-tone seems much thicker and heavy duty than some of the other Invicta watches at this level.

The flame fusion crystal should keep the watch in good condition, it’s much more scratch resistant than the mineral crystal. The outer bezel doesn’t rotate, instead it functions as a tachometer. It’s a nice tough, for sure. I know that Amazon says the watch has mineral crystal, but if you actually go check in the catalog you’ll see that the word from Invicta is that it’s, in fact, a flame fusion crystal.

Now, to address a couple of the issues.

Avid watch collectors will probably frown on the Japanese sourced movement…However, my feeling is that in a watch at this price if it’s accurate, then I’m happy. And the Invicta 9212 is accurate. Not only that, the Speedway chronograph is accurate too.

The date window is at the 4 o’clock position, and it’s unmagnified. Now, although that’s not really such a big deal, and I can see the date just fine from any angle, some folks have complained that it’s difficult to read because of it’s size, but if you’re 20/20 you’ll be fine. If you look at the pictures and don’t have trouble reading the date, then you should be good.

The only other thing is that the 24 hour chronograph doesn’t reset. Again, not a huge deal, but something to know before you buy the watch, for sure.

My Verdict of the Invicta Men’s 9212 Speedway Collection

All in all I really liked the Invicta 9212 Speedway Chronograph watch. I thought it had an even balance of features and affordability, but if you’ve got more money there are certainly nicer watches.
