The Akula collection is one of Invicta’s lesser known collections, however, it shouldn’t be discarded as a trendy men’s collection for any reason. Anyone who doesn’t believe me can just direct their attention to the Invicta F0018 Akula Diver below.

You’ll find my pros and cons list first, then, if you still really want it, my detailed review.

My Invicta F0018 Akula Russian Diver Review

Attractive and Sleek, the Invicta F0018 Akula Diver is one of Invicta’s more distinct looking watches, that’s for sure.

I also want to clear something up…This watch is also known as the Invicta 5529 Akula Sport, except it has a black leather instead of black rubber.

The watch is powered by a Swiss made quartz movement. The watch is certainly accurate, and you shouldn’t have any trouble with the chronograph either. Quartz movements will maintain their accuracy for longer than automatics, generally, so this is good for those of us who don’t fancy wearing our watch everyday.

This Invicta chronograph watch is easy to use, easy to read and very stylish. The 3 dials are arranged as normal around the dial, but because of the stark black and white design, the chronograph adds extra elegance to the watch. To reset the chronograph you’ll use the top pusher, and to start and stop it you do the bottom one. Or it might be the other way around actually…Either way, you get the idea.

F0018 Akula Case BackAs a men’s watch the Invicta F0018 certainly does its job. The Akula Diver has a 44mm case, so you can imagine about how big that is. It’s just a little bit bigger than the Pro Divers, but smaller than the Grand Divers. The watch appears very sleek, so you don’t have to worry about this watch being overly bold. It’s always going to look good, going equally well with a t shirt and a suit jacket.

There were only a couple things I would complain about…First off, the watch is only water resistant to 100 meters. Now, this really isn’t such a big deal, except that at $300 and being a Diver watch, I would’ve expected a little more water resistance. But then again, I don’t plan on going 100 meters under water anytime soon, so I guess it doesn’t matter.

My Verdict of the Invicta F0018 Akula Diver Men’s Watch

Overall the Invicta F0018 Akula Diver is a good buy. The design is really the hook here…The watch is just so nice looking. I love the chronograph and the sleek design. The black ion-plated stainless steel is durable, as is the leather strap. Comfortable to wear and a pleasure to look at, the minor flaws in this watch seem easily over-lookable.

It’s a shame that not many folks know about the Akula collection, because I’m actually quite fond of it. At first the designs kind of seemed bulky to me, but after reviewing this watch I think you can safely call me addicted. What a great watch!
